COMP STRATS (4th)

  1. Watch the video of a recent hard hit during a college football game:  http://deadspin.com/brady-hokes-dangerous-incompetence-so-bad-espn-announce-1640003412?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_facebook&utm_source=deadspin_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow
  2.   Pick up a copy of the article, "Hard Hit."
  3. Read and annotate.  I've made the margins and spacing so you have room to make one annotation per paragraph.
  4. As you read each paragraph, stop and make an annotation in the margin.  You can use any of the strategies on the white board.
  5. Look up and define words you don't know.  You will find at least five to ten in this article.
  6. Answer all the questions at the back of the packet.
  7. When you finish reading, go online and find two stories in the news related to concussions in sports (any sport).  Read or listen to those two, then fill out the spreadsheet here:   Spreadsheet for Links
  8. When you finish, put your name on your article, and turn it in.
  9. Grab a viewing sheet for our three vocab words, and follow the directions.  Pics are here:   Google Class folder
  10. Turn in your sheet, then read and relax!
