CREATIVE WRITING

When You Come In

1.      Please sign in.

2.     Please drop Journal #4 in the drawer.

3.     Get your WE#5 brainstorming off the back table, and keep it at your desk.

4.     Get your manila folder, and keep it at your desk.

5.     Grab an iBook, and get logged in to google docs.

Organization

·       SHARE your RUSSIAN TAILOR with me.  Do you remember how to do this?  We are not putting it in any folder—you’re just sharing it to me.

·       Why?  You and I are going to have a REVISION CONFERENCE over it today tomorrow, or Wednesday.

Writing Experiment:  Ghosts, Monsters, and Bullies (Childhood Fear)

1.      Look over your brainstorm from Friday to remind yourself of the subject of this poem you’re about to write.

2.     …remember our models from Friday?

3.     Review the assignment directions/expectations.

4.     Writing time today = 20 minutes-ish

5.     If you finish early, please do the following:

a.     Paragraph any prose pieces in your folder that need it.

b.     Create a collection/folder in your google docs called “Portfolio”.

c.      Which pieces that you’ve written so far do you think might be good to showcase in your portfolio?  Organize those pieces into that “Portfolio” collection/folder, please.

Sharing and Dialogue-Editing:  Partner Dialogue Stories!

·       Explain the potentially mind-blowing spreadsheet

·       With your partner, select your first story, and start reading!

·       Your MAIN GOAL is to EDIT DIALOGUE CORRECTLY!

·       Please leave ONE POSITIVE, SPECIFIC COMMENT AT THE END OF THE STORY, LEAVE YOUR NAMES AS WELL.

End of Class

1.      Print a copy of your Partner Dialogue Story. 

2.     Print front and back!

3.     Circle your name at the top.

4.     Put it in the drawer.

5.     Put your iBook away, please.
