CREATIVE WRITING

When You Come In

1.      Please sign in.

2.     Please pick up a bright yellow Trade and Grade sheet.

3.     Get out your Prompt Word Poem and rubric, and lay them on your desk, please.

Reflection and Peer Conferencing

1.      Fill out the Prompt Word Poem Rubric together.

2.     Prompt Word Poem Trade-and-Grade

3.     When you finish your conference and all the directions, do the following:

a.     Staple the rubric on top of the poem, then turn it in.

b.     Sign the bottom of the Trade and Grade sheet, then turn it in.

4.     Now, without talking, start the writing experiment (in green).

Writing Experiment:  Ghosts, Monsters, and Bullies (Childhood Fear)

1.      Please get out a piece of notebook paper.

2.     Put WE#5 at the top.

3.     List as many things as you can think of that made you afraid when you were a kid.

4.     Circle the ONE that feels like it was the most frightening.

5.     Brainstorm TEN details (numbered) about that particular fear as you can in the time we have left.

6.     Make sure your name is at the top of your paper before you pass it in when I call time.
