2.     Please get a Tuesday handout (by sign-in).
3.     Get an iBook, and finish the peer conference you started yesterday by 2:05. (4th block only)

Homework = PORTFOLIO!

Here is Tuesday's Checklist:

Tuesday—Revising PROSE #2

Please mark off each of the following items as you complete them.  Thanks!
1.      Get out your paper copy for the second prose piece (NOT a poem) you are going to revise.
2.     Read “Having a Writing Conference with Yourself”.
3.     Put a star by five questions you’d like to answer when you create your SECOND DRAFTS of revised prose.
4.     REVISE to a second draft, making a MINIMUM of ten changes.
5.     Print!  Keep your two drafts safe _________, when you will peer conference.
6.     Get out Poem Revision #1.
7.     Repeat steps #1-5.
Consider:  if you work for fifteen minutes on the assignment, you’re averaging about 1.5 revisions per minute, and that’s if you make only the bare minimum changes for tomorrow, which is ten.  What does it say if it takes you less than fifteen minutes?

If you finish early, please write in the space below what you spent your work time on:

ADVANCED CREATIVE WRITING

Homework Due

When You Come In
1.       Please sign in.
2.      Pick up a Peer Conference sheet for your Short Story (by sign-in).
3.      Grab an iBook, and share your Children’s Story with me (the BLOCKED version) in the google docs folder.  SAVE IT AS “YOUR LAST NAME—CHILDREN’S STORY”!
4.      If you revised your Short Story between Friday and today, print a copy so your peer conferencer can read your most recent draft!  Please and thank you!

Short Story
1.       Peer Conference—Almost Final Draft

When You Finish the Peer Conference
2.      Return materials to the writer.
3.      Staple the peer conference sheet from today ON TOP OF your Short Story packet (which I put on your desk at the start of class), and put it in the drawer.  I will read through them today in class while you’re working on your children’s story.

Children’s Story
1.       Review blocking.  Four people have their story blocked in what I’d call “print-ready” format.  The rest of us need to think about it, and try it one more time.

b.      Cut and paste, then scan (Maddie)
