CREATIVE WRITING

Happy Friday!
…Our Last Official Class Day!

·       Take a breath!
·       Do not ask me anything about revisions!  I will freak out on you!
·       We have several things to do first, and THEN I’ll talk about revisions, okay?  Okay!

Sharing
1.      last of Autobio poems.
2.     Turn in your listening sheet for a daily grade.

Perfect Moment—Peer Conference (15 minutes)
1.      Grab your first draft off the back table.
2.     Open up to page 7 for directions on Peer Conferencing.
3.     (You’ll need page 8 pulled out of your packet.)

Perfect Moment—Re-read First Draft and Peer Conf; Second/Final Draft (twenty minutes)
·       Be a machine (a thinking, brilliant, creative machine), and follow the directions on the rest of page 7, from “Now, On Your Own…” on down.
·       DO staple the rubric on top of your SECOND draft, but you do NOT need to fill it out.

DON’T GO TO THE PRINTER!  I’LL SEND ONE PERSON OVER!

Simile Poem Directions
1.      Reread the poem, then review your rubric self-assessment.
2.     If you agree with your original assessment, leave it as is, then sign your name in big letters across the whole front of the rubric.  Yes, really!
3.     If you make changes, write “CHANGED” at the top, then sign your name.
4.     Return the paper to me at the back table.

Revisions
1.      Finalize your four revisions, making superior final drafts.
2.     When you create a final, STAPLE IT ON TOP of the revision packet you have (1st draft, gold PC sheet, 2nd draft).
3.     Hang on to it.  I’ll call people back to my desk to turn them in.

Do anything you need to do for your portfolio!

Portfolio
·       Portfolio Self-Evaluation Hand Out—due Monday!

HOMEWORK
·       Finish four REVISIONS
·       Portfolio
·       Type your one-page portfolio reflection.
·       Bring your party item for Monday!
