Oedipus Wrap-Up
·      Take the quiz, then turn it in next to the homework—please and thank you!

Vocab Work                         (Starting for some at 11:34; studied until 11:55)
·      Go to quizlet, and start studying your new word list (I pulled them from the work you did yesterday on Professor Foster’s chapter, “It’s Greek to Me.”

We went over the Oedipus quiz, then turned it back in for a final grade.

Greek Mythology Wrap-Up:  Motifs
1.      Get a handout from me, and I’ll explain it.  Each individual person needs to fill out a sheet, even though you’re working as a group.
2.     Using your own big brains, along with the information below, complete the worksheet on motifs.

a.     Greek Myth Study Guide, 2013 (in our class folder on google drive)
b.    Barbie packet
c.     Your dvd notes


Homework for Tonight
·      Review the material above.  This is a college-level skill.  …no worksheet, no online work—just reading, reviewing, thinking, filling in gaps, and connections.
·      Tomorrow, we will discuss your study techniques!

Writing Assignment:  SHOW, DON’T TELL POEM
1.      Read over your Santa’s Helper’s free write, #2, #3 and #4.
2.     Select ONE moment or image from your list you would like to SHOW in a poem.
3.     Get a copy of the five senses visualizing chart.
4.    Follow the directions to complete it.
5.     Pair-share with the person I give you, and see if he/she can help you flesh out any more details.
6.    Review the grading criteria for this poem.
7.     Create a poem the will SHOW the moment or image you are trying to capture.  It should feel like you’re creating a photograph of the moment.
8.    Save this poem as “Show Don’t Tell Poem, Your Last Name”, then share it with me on google drive.
9.    Print a copy to the library, but don’t go get it.
10.  Free Rice until I stop you!  J

Diction Practice
1.      Play free rice at your BEST LEVEL (not starting over at Level 1) when you finish.
2.     20,000 grains are due by Tuesday, 12/10.
