When You Come In—Do these things before the tardy bell, please.

1.      Initial attendance on the clipboard on the front table.

2.     Pick up the yellow sheet by the clipboard.

3.     Pick up your book and daily reading sheet.

Housekeeping

·      We reviewed the schedule for today.

Vocabulary Instruction (w/handout and slideshows)

·      New Word #1:      TO ENCROACH

·      New Word #2:     CONNOISSEUR

·      Vocabulary Grid  Draw ten pictures.

Strategy Review

·      Has anyone else been taught a reading strategy in another class?

·      You tell me when you’re instructed to use a strategy on a reading assignment!

·      Enter any strategy reporting you have on our google doc called “Strategy Extra Credit Lookout—______ Block”.

Now

1.      When you finish your ten pics, put your vocab grid in the vocab section of your binder.

2.     You can start reading, please!

Read and Relax

Last Four Minutes of Class

1.      Complete your pink daily reading log

a.     time ended

b.    page ended

c.     TOTAL PAGES READ.

2.     Rate yourself. (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)

3.     Put your pink sheet and book over on the table where it was when class started, unless you’re reading outside of class today.
