CREATIVE WRITING

When You Come In

·       Please sign in, as usual.  J

·       Open up to the ORANGE section of your book—PORTFOLIO!

·       Read and annotate (at least four comments) Amanda’s reflection on page 32.

·       We will discuss some of your annotations, and then we will turn this in.  Make sure your name is at the top, please!

·       Look at your ideas—elaborate where possible!

Writing Buddies Announcement

·       We will be getting letters from our pen pals on MONDAY.

·       Don’t be absent TUESDAY!  That’s our first day with our buddies at Stewart!

Writing Lesson:  Making Titles That Are Better Than This one

(Twenty minutes)

1.      Grab two handouts.

2.     Grab an Earthbook!

3.     Complete the gold worksheet first.

4.     Select THREE pieces from your manila folder that have titles that could be stronger.

5.     Complete the yellow handout.

6.     Drop them both in the drawer when you’re done, please!

Please grab an iBook when you come back from lunch, or now, if you’ve completed the stuff in blue above.
