The most important thing to keep in mind today is to do your best work. That’s what I’m looking for.
· You all need to keep things quiet and focused—if you are peer conferencing over your work, do so quietly. If you are helping someone who’s been absent, please do so quietly so that people around you can still focus on their writing.
· I want you to complete the items on this checklist, in order.
__________1) I have carefully read the rubric for the Autobiographical Poem.
__________2) I have completed a final draft of my Autobiographical Poem. It’s the best writing of which I’m capable.
__________3) I have thoughtfully and completely filled out the rubric for my Autobiographical Poem. (This is part of the grade.)
__________4) I have stapled the rough draft of my Autobiographical Poem to the back of my final draft, and I’ve stapled the purple rubric on top, and I’ve put it in the drawer by the end of the block. (Do NOT worry about saving the poem to the HS Classes folder today. We’ll take care of it Monday.)

__________9) I have read the blog (http://kdubzclasses.blogspot.com/) to make sure I’m current on what’s happened in class the last four days. I have e-mailed Willis with any questions, comments or concerns I have.
_________10) I know that my homework for Monday is to write Journal #4—two pages, minimum, on any topic. I know it can be any genre—fact, fiction, poetry, conversation—anything I want.
_________11) I have put this completed checklist in the drawer.
