Happy Monday, 9/24/2012!                                       Day 23

When You Come In

1.      Sign in, please.

2.     Grab your vocab flashcards.

3.     Grab your pink daily reading sheet and your book—thanks!

Vocab Warm-Up

1.      Take out a sheet of notebook paper, and call it, “Week Five Vocab”.

2.     Write one sentence from your weekend using a word(s) from the word wall.

3.     (I’ll take this up Friday.)

Strategy

1.      Reading Actively—This is our mid-term check.

2.     When you finish, please staple the worksheet ON TOP OF the directions and highlighted passage, and put it in the drawer.

3.     Please fill out your pink sheet, and start reading your free reading book after you finish.  It will take a bit to get everyone through this, doing his/her best work.

Vocabulary Review

1.      Lay out your cards in a 4 X 4 grid.

2.     Word side is up!

3.     Cover your card with a Skittle, if I call it.  (Tic-Tac-Toe-Bingo)

4.     Round 2 = shuffle your cards, and do picture side up now.

5.     Round 3 =  word side up; physical signs only

6.    Round 4 = Slap It
