When You Come In

Online Vocabulary Work

·      a multiple choice vocabulary test

·      gives you harder words when you get one right

·      gives you easier words when you miss one

·      donates rice to the world's hungry every time you get a definition right

Steps

1.      Create a new e-mail account NOT associated with the school.  (I will model how you do this, while you watch, with computers closed.)

a.     Appropriate, grown-up user name—one you could put on a job application or college application.

b.    Easy-to-remember password

2.     Click on the link on my blog to take you to the link called “Zebra Block Four”.

3.     Join my group for this class.

4.     You might have to sign in again, so have access to your new e-mail account!

At the end of our half-hour on this, you’ll show me the following:

1.      Your level

2.     Number of grains of rice you’ve earned

Read and Relax

·      Get your reading log (pink sheet) and your reading book (reading log).

·      Fill it out.

·      Read and enjoy your just-right book for thirty minutes! 

Last Four Minutes of Class

1.      Complete your pink daily reading log

a.     time ended

b.    page ended

c.     TOTAL PAGES READ.

2.     Rate yourself. (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)

3.     Text me how many pages you read today.  Text me the number of pages, then your last name!  No one will see it but me!

4.     Put your pink sheet and book over on the table where it was when class started.
